A lot of my paintings are sourced from the local rodeo. This particular cowboy appears in a number of my paintings. I study my backgrounds from photos and then often paint from memory in a a painterly style. The intricate detail on the saddle’s leatherwork and the glowing sheen on the horse are my favorite challenges.
